Mullayanagiri Trek, Chikmagalur
Bestowed with an assortment of scenic delights, the Mullayangiri Peak is one of the fascinating peak in South India. Comprising of 2 days and 1 night, this 10km trek takes around 7 hours to get completed.
Starting at around 10pm from Bangalore, reach the basecamp in Mullayangiri by early morning. After freshening up, have breakfast and embark on the enthralling uphill trek at 7am in the morning; amidst the numerous routes, Sarpadhari is chosen as the starting point of the trek.
A comparatively easier hike, the first part of the trek takes you through several ravines, uneven terrains that are pristine in nature. With the climb proceeding towards the second part, the gradient gradually gets moderate and finally takes you to the peak by 1pm; en route, relish packed lunch.
Upon arriving the peak, enjoy the serenity of the atmosphere and panoramic views of the surrounding. Post this, start descending down the hill and arrive at the basecamp by 5pm in the evening; your downhill trek will be fascinated by the astounding views of the sunset. Following arrival at the campsite, relax till dinner is served and enjoy an overnight stay in tents.
Waking up the next morning, embark on an early trek to Devirammana Betta. Considered as an easy trek, this trek gets completed before lunch time. Within this, you can also opt to visit the stunning Jhari Falls. Post lunch, relax for a while and depart the campsite and continue with your return journey towards Bangalore.
