The Indian peninsula hosts some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. In addition, the beaches offer a unique perspective into the life of the communities that reside by the sea.

Today, we visit the sandy shores hosted by Gujarat and Diu on the Western Coast of the Indian sub-continent.

Mandvi Beach - Gujurat

Mandvi Beach is in the Kachchh district of Gujarat. The city of Mandvi is also famous for the shipbuilding industry near the Rukmavati River.  The city is famous for is ship building industry and one can get a hotel rooms overlooking hundreds of workmen making ships out of wood. The beach is quite close to the city. The beach is full of life, with tourists enjoying camel and horse rides in addition to the water sports like para sailing and boat rides.  If you are looking for a bit of peace and tranquillity, visit the private beach of the Maharao of Bhuj for a fee and enjoy the sunset from the palace pavilion. The beach is nice place to enjoy swimming as well.
