Visakhapatnam(Vaizak)

Visakhapatnam is the place for one of the best beaches and coastlines in India, which many people are not aware of .From Lakes to cool Beaches, from beautiful Hill Ranges to Caves and Valleys, Visakhapatnam has them all. Why go to Koh Samui when you have the best here in india.I never expected Vaizak to be so beautiful ,when a friend of mine invited me to Visit her since her Husband was a Navy officer in Vaizak and Vaizak is infact The Eastern Naval Command (Head quarters).

Visakhapatnam is a coastal, port city, often called "The Jewel of the East Coast", situated in  the of Andhra Pradesh, located on the eastern shore of India, nestled among the hills of the Eastern Ghats and facing the Bay of Bengal to the east.

It is the second largest city in Andhra Pradesh.According to the history, the city was named after the god of Valor-Vishakha. It was a part of the Kalinga Kingdom, under Ashoka's rule in 260 B.C. It passed on later to the Andhra Kings of Vengi. After this Pallava,Chola and Ganga dynasties ruled the city.In the 15th century, Vishakhapatnam became a part of the Vijayanagar Empire.

The district has many tourism spots that represent the Culture and Heritage of the true India. It is often called the best tourism destination in Andhra Pradesh.

Vaizak, to my surprise is one of the most cleanest cites I have seen in recent times. The more I drove with her, the more longer and never ending the coast line seemed to me.

The way to the Naval Base Officers house was like taking a small trek around the rocky mountains surrounded with ocean and lush greenery.

While this city is known for heavy industries, steel plants, seaport, natural harbor and shipyard, it does have quite a few places that one can visit while on a trip to Visakhpatnam. It’s more of an industrial city but, the clean sandy beaches attract tourists.Golden, unspoiled beach, washed by the sun-warmed sea, it is perfect for swimmers, water skiers, and wind suffers.

Few Places you must see while on a Trip to Vaizak

Hotel/Stay/Accomodation In Vaizak

Since its the 2nd largest cities in Andra, You wont find it difficult to get a hotel or a resort. Its cheap and not very commercial.

Its a famous vacation spot with Bengalis and Oriya's while the Dessera holidays. Vaizak so far is not too commercialized with the International Crowd. For me Vaizak is hundred  times more beautiful than Goa or Kovalam can be.Sadly the Andra Govt has not done much publicity with the Vaizak tourism. Its just a small Hidden Paradise which not many people know about.
