ETHNIC RESORT ACTIVITIES
* Hill trekking – There are several trekking routes around the resort. Duration will be a minimum
of one hour to a maximum of three hours. Guests will be accompanied by a guide.
Timing: Between 6 am to 8 am Rs.300 / person
* Village walks / Nature walks – same as above, evening 5pm to 7 pm also available.
* Yoga and Meditation – For 1 hour of basic yoga Rs.1500 per session for upto 5 persons.
For more than 5 persons, Rs.300 per head will be added.
Where advanced classes are required, the same can be arranged at extra cost.
* Cookery classes in ethnic food – For one session for a group of up to 20 pax - Rs.3,000
Timing: Between 10 am to 6 pm, as per guest convenience.
* Temple Pooja at cultural center between 5 pm to 6 pm (no charges)

THE PROGRAMME STRUCTURE
The Cultural center is a twin campus abutting the resort . With a 500 seater auditorium, dining pavilion, open temple complex and games area with a makeshift crafts bazaar , it offers an evening of infotainment for guests.
Campus opens by 5 pm. Ideally, guests should be there by at least 5.30 pm to enjoy the ambience with adequate sunlight. On arrival, guests are given a warm traditional welcome with sprinkling of paneer (perfumed water), sandalwood paste &kumkum. Ladies are adorned with bindhies and bangles , men with Angavasthiram. They are also given a refreshing welcome drink.
Exposure to native Games which guests can watch and take part in like Paandi ,Pallanguzhi , Pambaram ,GoliGundu (marbles), Kitti-Pullu Guests can shop for local curios including traditional paintings, handicraft products, etc. and can also dabble in astrology.
An over view of spiritual practices followed in Tamil Nadu with a brief gist of Hinduism are explained at the temple complex. . Guests can also enjoy watching the sunset from the temple lawn.
Cultural Programs in auditorium –
The cultural program begins in the auditorium by 6.30 pm. A brief introduction to Tamil culture and traditions is followed by an hour of well compered classical arts and folk arts performances.
BharathaNatyam ,the Classical dance form of Tamil Nadu is presented for about 25 minutes . The meaning of the lyrics of the songs being performed , expressions of the dancers etc are explained to help the guests enjoy the intricacies of the art.
Folk dances of Tamilnadu - The Tamils have a wide variety of folk dances out of which 2 or 3 varieties will be showcased each day for about 20 minutes. Guests can interact and photograph themselves with the artists.
‘Thorpavaikoothu’ leather puppetry show follows at the charming Puppetry theatre where stories from ancient epics like Ramayana are recreated.
The evening winds up with a typical Tamil ethnic vegetarian dinner served at the dining pavilion. A ‘set menu’ witha cross section of authentic Tamil cuisine is served on banana leaves . Ethnic village food made out of millets such as thinai ( pearl millet) , kollu (horsegram), etc as well as traditional Tamil home preparations, not found in mainstream restaurants such as curry leaf rice , blackgram dhal rice are served with a balanced variety of regular south Indian food items.
A ‘food display’ with a brief description of the various items on the menu, including their nutritive value and display of ingredients arranged aesthetically has been highly appreciated.
A visit to the Kadambavanam cultural centre makes for a complete Tamil experience for the guests.
